Two songs this morning

I have the flu. When my alarm went off for church, I realized I couldn't go. This was the song in my head. I texted people to tell them I wouldn't be there, and then went back to sleep.

Whom Shall I Fear

When I heard this song in my head this morning, I thought it was odd... I like the song a lot, but I didn't see how it was a message for how I shold spend my day or what I should be focusing on... A few minutes later, I got a rush of emails and texts and phone messages from W and some woman I have never heard of... An old girlfriend who apprently is mentally unstable and has been stalking him. She saw my name on his phone and flipped out and started texting me angrily, accusing me of stealing her boyfrind and runing her life... I was a little scared. She can find out where I live, and apparently she has gotten beligerant and destructive before... It was later in the day when I feeling a little frightened that I remembered what song I had been given to me this morning...

I told my secrets this week. All of them. To W... He didn't run away or freak out.

He cried, and gave me this stuffed bear. I named him Junior.

This song has been such a blessing to me. Every time I hear it, I feel like God, Himself is reminding me that I can't make a mistake so big that His love can't cover it. That I can't make a mistake so big that His plan will be messed up... 

The chorus of this song gives me hope every time I hear it. It came on three different times today- each time I got int he car. I felt like it was a message. I have felt lately like there is no way I can ever recover or move forward, because I will never be able to outrun my past or outlive my mistakes. After telling W everything, I have wondered if it is possible to rise above the shame and leave it behind... I know God can- I just don't know if I can.

The first time I heard this song, it made me cry. The words are so perfect for how I have felt so often. After talking to W so much about the past, and seeing X and his woman at the play last night, and having to find someone else to chair the meeting tonight, and then B forcing me to call him on the phone... My heart has been heavy. SOme days are better than others. But sometimes this song is just how I feel. This song, and "Worn"...
